Ear Candling (Coning)

How does it work? The two action phases of coning, heat and low pressure, work together to create a gentle vacuum which leads to pressure regulation of the sinus cavities. The pressure flow carries vapors from the candle heat inwards and warms the ear walls.

This allows the pores to open and the skin can breathe. Ear wax and impurities are pulled up into the cone and are condensed and deposited in the unburned part of the cone.

People describe the feeling as "a release of pressure", "feeling lighter". The whole process is pleasant and usually a feeling of well-being will be experienced.

What to Expect

Your initial evaluation is very detailed, we ask that you completely and accurately fill out the health and information forms; this is a very important component to ensure the best results possible. During this time you will meet Nancy Reicher our Alternative practitioner. Nancy will go over your paperwork and address any concerns you may have.

An explanation of the Ear Candling will be given and any questions you have will be answered. An examination of your ear will be done and condition noted.

You will then lie comfortably on a massage table. With pleasant music playing your session will begin. The use of acupressure points and massage on your face and hands are used during the treatment. This treatment takes an hour. After, suggestions may be given to continue with further sessions and home methods to help continue to remove wax and the general care of your ears.
