Scapular Stretch and Rotator Cuff Release (SSRR)
SSRR is a non-invasive soft tissue technique used to release the muscles, tendons, and ligaments of the neck and shoulder. It is very effective at treating conditions such as frozen shoulder, tendonitis, whiplash, and chronic neck and shoulder pain. SSRR is performed while the client lies on their back.
The massage therapist fully supports the shoulder and scapula (shoulder blade) while applying techniques that release the surrounding soft tissue.
Also, the massage therapist gently mobilizes the shoulder to increase mobility of the joint while passively stretching the surrounding musculature.
This technique can be used to treat specific neck and shoulder conditions or simply in conjunction with a maintenance program.
