Spinal Posture & Correction

Spinal Correction or adjustments are the foundation of Chiropractic. After completing their Bachelor of Science degree, Doctors of Chiropractic continue to train for another 4 years to:

  1. diagnose what is wrong with your body function
  2. explain your problem to you so you understand
  3. provide a plan of management to correct the problem
  4. master the art of adjusting the spine

Chiropractors do not prescribe drugs. Chiropractors provide a safe approach to healing by delivering specific adjustments to the spine so there are no nerve interferences, thus allowing the body to heal naturally. The adjustments are delivered with intent. That means the adjustment is very specific in its direction (through the joint plane) and force (pressure to move the vertebrae). The end result will be improved range of motion of the vertebrae signaled by an audible “popping” sound, which is gas (Carbon Dioxide or Nitrogen) being released in the joint.

Posture Correction

This involves spinal correction (adjustments) plus a very specific protocol which involves “blocking” and “tractioning” to correct abnormal curvatures of the spine. In order to change your posture, adjustments plus very specific exercises and blocking techniques must be completed together. For a more detailed understanding of what this involves please contact our clinic to reserve a seat for our ½ hour group discussion on Posture Correction and Spinal Health. “Old school” thinking suggests that spinal curves cannot be changed. New research has proved that to be very false.

“The world is moving so fast these days that the person who says it can’t be done is generally interrupted by someone doing it.” – Elbert Hubbard
