Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones. They are often basalt, a volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well.

It is deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage. The heat helps tight muscles relax.

The therapist uses traditional strokes of Swedish massage while holding the heated stone. As the stone cools, the therapist replaces it with another.

The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along your spine, or in the palms of your hand, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body.

Paraffin Bath Therapy

Paraffin bath therapy is one of the most effective methods of applying heat to relieve pain and stiffness.

A warm paraffin bath relaxes muscles, relieves stiffness and muscle spasms, and stimulates circulation. The warm paraffin also moisturizes for healthier looking, softer skin.

This is a wonderful heat therapy that provides symptomatic relief of pain and is optimal for patients suffering from arthritis, bursitis, muscle spasms, pain, stiffness and chronic joint inflammation.

It may be prescribed for post-fracture or post-dislocation treatment; for sprains and strains; for restriction of motion due to scar tissue; and for other conditions for which heat is indicated.

Or that can just be enjoyed for the soothing warmth and relaxation they provide.

 Swedish Deep Tissue

Deep tissue therapy digs a bit deeper than your regular massage.

It targets the muscles deeper within the body to work out knots and kinks that can be affecting the blood flow and therefore oxygen distribution to core muscles.

A lack of proper oxygen can lead to a build up of toxins leaving a person in chronic pain. This type of massage targets the deeper muscles by changing the techniques of regular massage. Your therapist may use slower and more targeted strokes during the process.

They work against the natural growth of the muscle to trigger a more pronounced response. Your therapist will also use a good amount of pressure during your massage so the proper muscles are reached.
